नमस्कार,
नवीन वर्षाच्या सर्व छायाचित्रकारांना शुभेच्छा!
फोटोग्राफीक सोसायटी ऑफ इंडियाचा अध्यक्ष या नात्याने मी आपले स्वागत करीत आहे. गेली ८८ वर्षे ही सोसायटी भारतभर कार्यरत आहे. फोटोग्राफीचा प्रसार व्हावा या दृष्टीकोनातून वर्षभर वेगवेगळे कॅम्प, प्रदर्शनं, सहली आयोजित करते. वर्षाच्या सुरूवातीलाच ‘मुंबई, जुनी आणि नवी’ हा विषय घेऊन सोसायटीच्या सभासदांनी एक वेगळेच दर्शन फोटोग्राफीच्या माध्यमातून मुंबईकरांना घडविले. हे प्रदर्शन मुंबईच्या पु.ल.देशपांडे कला अकादमीत आयोजित करण्यात आले होते आणि समस्त मुंबईकरांनी या प्रदर्शनाला उत्स्फूर्त प्रतिसाद दिला. यंदाच्या वर्षीही २७ जानेवारी ते २ फेब्रुवारी २०२६ या कालावधीत जहांगीर आर्ट गॅलरीमध्ये प्रदर्शन भरवित आहे. या प्रदर्शनाला सर्व सभासदांनी सकारात्मक प्रतिसाद देऊन प्रदर्शन यशस्वी करण्याकरिता मोठा हातभार लावला आहे. त्यानिमित्ताने सर्व सभासदांचे आभार. भविष्यातही फोटोग्राफी हा एक अभ्यासक्रम करून तो अमलात आणण्याचा, तसेच आपल्या सर्वांच्या सहकार्याने जास्तीत जास्त लोकांपर्यंत फोटोग्राफी पोहोचेल यासाठी कार्यरत राहीन.

Greetings, and best wishes for the New Year to all photographers!
As President of the Photographic Society of India, I warmly welcome you. For 88 years this Society has been active across India. With the aim of spreading the art of photography, it organises a range of camps, exhibitions and outings throughout the year. At the very start of this year, on the theme “Mumbai — Old and New,” the Society’s members offered the people of Mumbai a distinctive vision through photography. That exhibition was held at Mumbai’s P. L. Deshpande Kala Academy and drew a wonderfully spontaneous response from across the city. This year too, an exhibition is being held at the Jehangir Art Gallery from 27 January to 2 February 2026 — and our members have contributed generously to making it a success, for which I thank them all. In the years ahead, I will continue working to establish photography as a course of study, and — with everyone’s cooperation — to bring photography to as many people as possible.
